Melting and Feeding Technologies for Speciality and Colour Glasses
For over 20 years, we have continuously matured our mini-melting technology, which started as lab equipment for the Faculty of Engineering Science at the University of Bayreuth. We are deeply grateful for the pioneering knowledge, creative thinking and visionary spirit that Prof. Monika Willert-Porada has initiated and that has been continued by Prof. Thorsten Gerdes and his team at the Keylab Glass Technology.
We are fully committed to delivering integrated and modular solutions. Our Mini-Melting and Micro-Melting systems offer a mature platform, optimizing each process step—from raw material supply to melting, fining, conditioning and feeding as well as forming.
Our solutions provide tailor-made solutions for niche markets which require either high flexibility in color, weight, and glass/crystal forming or very specialized and stable production conditions.
Expertise is key to this integration, and we greatly value our collaborations, including:
… Keylab Glass Technology at the University of Bayreuth: advancing our understanding of specialty glass melting and materials’ behavior in glass contact.
… Glasstronics: whose expertise in glass flow, heat impact, and refractory requirements has significantly contributed to the mini-melter and conditioning channel development.
Another important contribution to our progress is the experience we've gained from working alongside our glass manufacturing partners and through innovation in our own facilities, such as:
- micro-melter in füller-lab @ TAZ Spiegelau, where we can form glass of the most intricate or precision shapes in combination with almost all glass compositions, or our
- mini-melter in füller-Tech-Center in Riedlhütte, where we can provide glass under industrial conditions and join it with almost all forming processes.
Mini- and micro-melters are now established in specialized industrial applications, serving as innovation incubators for glass producers and providing competitive solutions for the future, focusing on electronic control, data utilization, energy efficiency - and product specialization.
